Makerspaces

Makerspaces are a place where kids can come and be creative and design, build, invent, and learn.
In library we have makerspaces that are used at both Carpenter and Shannon school. Thanks to the Monticello PTO we were able to purchase some great tools and materials that we can use during makerspace time. Makerspaces happen around once a month during media class as well as occasionally for classroom projects. Each year we are gaining more tools and objects to use in our makerspaces. Some of the different makerspace centers that are available include:

Carpenter Makerspaces:
Lego station
Make-do tools to use with cardboard
Spheros station
Origami station
Make-it craft station
Rainbow Loom bracelet station
Building cars and other objects with small metal pieces
Coding on iPads station
Osmo Station

Shannon Makerspaces:

Magnet Shape station
Building blocks
Blue-bot station
